Cullen Wealth named in top 5 of FTAdviser Top 100 Awards, 2023

By October 10, 2023No Comments

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Cullen Wealth has been crowned a top 5 firm in this year’s FTAdviser Top 100 Financial Advisers list.

FTAdviser’s annual rankings name the country’s leading 100 financial advice firms. This is Cullen Wealth’s fifth consecutive year in the FTAdviser Top 100. Each year we have built on the success of the previous year, climbing to the top 20 in 2022, and rising into 5th place this year.

The prestigious list is based on 6 key factors which include, among others:

  • Total assets under management;
  • Client retention rates;
  • The length of time a firm has been in business, and;
  • Whether a firm is CII Chartered or CISI Accredited.

We are thrilled that our corporate Chartered status, our 25-year heritage, and commitment to long-term relationships that result in our clients securing prosperous futures, have been recognised in this way.

There are more than 5,000 financial advisory businesses in the UK. Cullen Wealth stands apart as one of just a small number of independent, owner-managed firms in a list that includes many national and international brands.

We have always put our clients at the heart of our business. Our holistic approach, centring on our clients’ long-term financial and lifestyle ambitions – rather than simply their money – means that even in troubled markets, we have maintained excellent client satisfaction and retention figures. This was reflected in the results of our most recent client survey, completed at the end of September, that returned a net promoter score of 72. To put that in perspective, the investment sector as a whole has an industry average of 40. That puts us in the 100th percentile for investments.

We are also extremely pleased to be recognised as the highest-ranking North-West-based firm in the FTAdviser Top 100 this year.

If you are an existing client, our placement in the top 5 provides you with added peace of mind that your finances are in safe hands, and that our approach to helping you achieve your personal financial goals has been recognised as optimal and successful.

If you are a professional connection, we hope our standing as a top 5 firm provides you with additional reassurance that those you introduce to us will be well-served by a team of dedicated, competent professionals who are skilled in achieving the best possible outcomes for clients.

If you are yet to become a client, our placement in the top 5 will, we hope, provide a degree of security and confidence that we know is vital when it comes to something as important as choosing those who will grow, protect and preserve your wealth. We look forward to welcoming you and helping you achieve the goals that are important to you.

Commenting on the announcement, Richard Cullen, Chief Executive of Cullen Wealth said: To be listed in the top 100 is a great result, but to be acknowledged as one of the 5 best financial advice firms in the UK is a phenomenal achievement and testament to the commitment our entire team make to excellence in servicing our clients.

A note on how the FTAdviser Top 100 list is compiled

Financial planning and advice firms cannot apply for a place in the FTAdviser Top 100. Places are awarded based on criteria selected by FTAdviser.

A long list is first created by selecting the 150 largest firms in UK based on gross sales in the previous 12 months. This year, firms with gross sales of over £160mn were eligible for inclusion, compared with £175mn in 2022.

Each firm is then scored points based on 6 different factors. The sum of these factors produce the final ranking.

In 2023, the criteria were:

  • Total Assets Under Management
  • The financial success of the business (measured through net sales) over the previous 12 months
  • How many years a firm has been in business
  • Client retention
  • Estimated Performance Score (based on AUM growth over the period once net-sales are taken away.)
  • Whether a firm is CII or CISI Chartered/Accredited
